Windows 11 25H2 KB5065789 Update: New Features & AI-Driven Enhancements (September 2025)

Windows 11 25H2 September 2025 Update (KB5065789): AI Features & Improvements

Microsoft rolled out an exciting preview update for Windows 11 version 25H2 this September. Build 26200.6713, delivered through update KB5065789, brings AI-powered enhancements, interface improvements, and productivity features that showcase the future of Windows computing.

Click to Do Gets Smarter with Table Detection

The biggest highlight is Click to Do’s new ability to recognize tables in any application and convert them directly to Excel. Whether you’re looking at data in a web browser, PDF, or document, you can now highlight a table and use Win + Click, Win + Q, or right-swipe gestures to access the “Convert to table with Excel” action. This feature requires a Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PC along with the latest Excel and Microsoft 365 subscription.

Beyond table detection, Click to Do introduces new and popular action tags in the context menu, making it easier to discover AI-powered capabilities. Text summaries are now more concise and refined, while first-time users get an interactive tutorial with both text and images to learn the ropes.

AI Actions Come to File Explorer

File Explorer now supports AI-powered actions when you right-click on images and documents. This integration lets you perform operations without opening files, streamlining your workflow for document and image management tasks.

Expanded AI Agent in Settings

The AI agent in Settings is no longer limited to Snapdragon processors—it now works with Intel and AMD AI processors too. You can describe problems in natural language, and the agent will find relevant settings or offer to configure them automatically with your permission.

Other Settings improvements include a redesigned advanced settings page that replaces the old “For Developers” section, recent activity tracking for third-party AI text and image generation requests, and updated activation dialogs that match Windows 11’s design language.

Interface and Usability Updates

Several visual and functional improvements enhance daily use:

  • You can now show seconds on the clock in the Notification Center by going to Settings > Time & language > Date & time
  • Windows Search displays photo results in a cleaner grid view with indexing status notifications
  • Windows Hello authentication gets a fresh look with new elements, animations, and icons
  • The File Explorer context menu removes accent-colored backplates behind packaged app icons for a cleaner appearance

Enhanced Security Features

Administrator Protection joins the security toolkit as part of ongoing improvements. The update also adds support for third-party passkey providers, giving enterprise users more authentication options.

Small but Useful Additions

Windows Share now lets you pin favorite apps for quicker access to frequently used sharing destinations. New keyboard shortcuts enable typing “en dash” and “em dash” characters, improving document formatting capabilities.

Availability and What’s Next

This preview update started rolling out on September 12, 2025, through the Release Preview Channel. All these features will be included in the October 2025 Security Update when it reaches everyone on Patch Tuesday.

Keep in mind that many features use gradual rollout, so availability varies based on your region, hardware, and Microsoft’s deployment schedule. Some AI features require specific hardware and may not be available in all markets initially.

This update demonstrates Microsoft’s continued push to integrate AI throughout Windows 11, especially for Copilot+ PCs, while delivering interface refinements and productivity enhancements for all users. The focus on making everyday tasks smarter and more efficient shows where Windows is heading as AI becomes more central to computing.
