Meet the Omnibar
The Omnibar replaces the old address bar at the top of the window. It works like a browser’s address bar but for folders and files. Type or paste a folder path to jump straight there. Or type a file or folder name to search instantly. No more switching between navigation and search—both happen in one box.
Command Palette at Your Fingertips
A new Command Palette button lives in the Omnibar. Click it to run actions like “Create new folder,” “Sort items by size,” or “Empty recycle bin.” Previously you needed a keyboard shortcut to open this feature. Now it’s just one click away.
Dual Pane Made Easy
Moving files between folders is smoother with Dual Pane mode. It shows two folders side by side. To toggle it, press Ctrl + Shift + S or right-click any folder and choose “Open in new pane.” Drag and drop files between panes faster than ever.
Sharper Search and Filtering
Search and filter are now separate options. Press Ctrl + F or click the search icon in the Omnibar to scan your entire drive using Windows Search. If you only want to search the current folder, press Ctrl + Shift + F or click the filter toggle (down arrow) on the toolbar. You’ll get results exactly where you need them.
OneDrive at a Glance
Want to check your OneDrive storage quickly? Right-click the OneDrive icon in the sidebar and select Properties. You’ll see how much space you’ve used without opening a browser.
Fine-Tuned Settings
The Settings button has moved to the bottom left. Here you can switch file-size formatting from binary (MiB, GiB) to decimal (MB, GB) and tweak appearance, toolbars, and status-center behavior. For example, you can hide the status-center icon except when files are actively copying or moving.
